The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has revealed the recipients of its 2022 Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI) Grant Fund, in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).

Now in its seventh edition of the programme, CFDA said in a release it has distributed nearly 460,000 dollars this year, bringing its total investments to nearly four million dollars across New York.

As revealed in a release, the 12 grant recipients include Button Down Factory, Create A Marker, Design Incubator, Dyenamix, Etier, Fugitive Patterns, Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) Studio, In Style USA, Knit Illustrated, Knit Resort, LW Pearl, and Tailored Industry.

Those selected offer services in the likes of pattern development, cutting and sewing, knitwear services, printing and washing.

For the selection, CFDA followed certain criteria, including qualifiers surrounding sustainability, diversity and inclusion, as well as workforce impact and overarching business viability.

All recipients underwent successfully completed financial audits, as well as social compliance audits, CFDA added.
