John Lewis expands rapid delivery through Deliveroo and Uber Eats
Department store giant John Lewis is expanding its rapid delivery service to cover around 10,000 products, offering delivery in under 30 minutes through Deliveroo and Uber Eats across eight stores in London and selected areas of Hertfordshire and Kent.
The expansion coincides with the 25th anniversary of the retailer’s online store, which launched in 2001 with 5,000 products. Its website now offers more than 300,000 items and processes an average of 55,000 orders daily. The rapid delivery service, initially trialled in 2025, is available through stores including Oxford Street, Peter Jones, Bluewater and Kingston.
Alongside the rollout, John Lewis is upgrading its website and mobile app, which acounts for around 40 percent of online sales, updating search functionality, product inspiration and access to customer support. The retailer is further developing an AI-powered product finder ahead of Christmas.
The investments form part of John Lewis’s wider 800 million pound transformation programme, which aims to connect its physical stores and digital channels. The retailer said it has delivered more than 1.3 million items directly from stores since expanding its deliver-from-store service.
Dom McBrien, chief digital and omnichannel officer at John Lewis, said: “Bringing the best of John Lewis into our customers' daily lives is at the heart of our transformation.
"Whether shoppers are seeking expert advice from partners in our stores, picking up an order via click and collect, or ordering via our Deliveroo or Uber Eats for delivery in 30 minutes, we are meeting them wherever they are with trusted quality and exceptional service.
"By expanding our rapid delivery option alongside major website upgrades, we are giving customers ultimate convenience and flexibility without ever compromising on the service they expect from John Lewis.”
