Biodiversify, a British conservation consultancy, has announced the expansion of its fashion hub. The Kering-backed firm has now expanded its support network to also include climate activist Kalpana Arias, alongside whom it is aiming to aid in the development of strategies against nature loss while further generating sustainable solutions across the fashion value chain.

On this latest news, Arias, who is also the founder of Nowadays on Earth, said: “Fashion companies are deeply intertwined with nature at every stage of their supply chains, and share a collective responsibility not just to protect the natural world but to actively restore the ecosystems on which they depend.

“Governments must create and enforce policies that incentivise and empower fashion brands to take these transformative steps. Only through a unified approach can we drive meaningful change that benefits both nature and the future of the fashion industry."

Established in 2018, Nottingham-based Biodiversify has since been commissioned by brands like Kering and Primark to conduct in-depth assessments of business operations, with focus areas including supply chains, material certifications and regenerative agriculture practices.

The company is further preparing to support brand partners on navigating upcoming frameworks and legislations, such as the Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN), Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
