Seasalt has hailed an “outstanding” year as it booked both top and bottom line growth.
The Cornwall-based fashion and lifestyle brand reported a 38 percent increase in sales to 96.4 million pounds in the year to January 29, 2022.
The company’s strong results came as the business recovered from the impact of the pandemic, as most of its stores were reopened by the end of April 2021 and “slowly started to recover”.
Trading across the majority of locations accelerated towards the summer, with most back to pre-pandemic levels by the end of the year.
As a result, store revenue by the year-end was up 200 percent on the prior year, but was still down 15 percent for the year ended January 2020, reflecting the fact they were closed for 21 percent of its most recently reported year.
The company’s online business in its most recent financial year also recovered, with revenue up 8.2 percent on the prior year and up 93 percent on the year ended January 2020.
Seasalt’s pre-tax profit in its most recent year increased to 6.5 million pounds from 2.4 million pounds the prior year.
