SMCP: quarterly revenue falls by 1 percent
French fashion group SMCP recorded a decline in revenue in the third quarter of the 2026 financial year due to losses in its domestic market. This was revealed in an interim statement published on Thursday by the parent company of Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot and Fursac.
From July to September, group revenue amounted to 291.4 million euros (327.4 million dollars). This represents a year-over-year decrease of 1 percent. On an organic basis, revenue shrank by 2 percent.
Group suffers significant losses in France
In its French domestic market, revenue fell by 9.7 percent to 87.7 million euros. The company attributed the losses to factors including “unusual weather conditions” and the closure of retail spaces.
Conversely, performance improved in the remaining markets of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Revenue there rose by 2.1 percent (+2.5 percent organically) to 112.6 million euros, driven by positive developments in Italy, Spain and the Benelux countries. In the Americas, revenue grew by 6.3 percent (+4.3 percent organically) to 49.6 million euros, while in Asia it increased by 3 percent (-3.3 percent organically) to 41.6 million euros.
CEO Guichot praises “robust performance”
The Sandro brand showed solid performance, with third-quarter revenue increasing by 1.2 percent to 147.3 million euros. On an organic basis, it remained largely stable YoY. Maje recorded a decline of 1.3 percent (-2.4 percent organically) to 114.2 million euros, while the combined revenue of the group's other brands shrank by 9.6 percent to 30 million euros.
In the first nine months of the year, group revenue reached 888.4 million euros, falling short of the prior-year level by 0.8 percent (-0.2 percent organically).
CEO Isabelle Guichot expressed overall satisfaction with the recent results. “In the third quarter, the group achieved a robust performance despite a challenging consumer environment in certain regions,” she said in a statement. “We are particularly pleased with the continued growth in the Americas and the EMEA region, which was achieved despite a high comparison base.”
