Daianara Grullon Amalfitano, the chief brand and product officer at Aldo, has stepped down from her role. According to a statement from Aldo Group, Amalfitano is “pursuing new opportunities” outside of the company.

The statement read: “Over the past decade, [Amalfitano] has contributed to meaningful growth and evolution for the brand, and we are deeply grateful for her leadership. As we move through this transition, we’re energised for what lies ahead and hopeful our paths may cross again in a new capacity in the future."

Amalfitano initially joined the Canadian group as VP of global footwear in 2016, overseeing the brand’s women’s and men’s footwear design and product development. She went on to become SVP of the Aldo brand before taking on her most recent role in October 2022.

She first came to Aldo just months after the company finalised a restructuring process after having filed for bankruptcy protection in May 2020. The company was one of many to have been impacted by the effects of the pandemic, and thus set about optimising its operations and solidifying its financial model.

Prior to Aldo, Amalfitano was at Steve Madden for just over 22 years, her latest position being that of president of specialty brands and international brand manager.
