British luxury womenswear designer Anna Mason has opened a new atelier and showroom in the heart of Belgravia, London, to cater for both her ready-to-wear and made-to-order collections.

The Anna Mason Maison is located at 32 Grosvenor Crescent Mews and will allow the designer to place her customers at the heart of the brand, offering private appointments, personal shopping, concierge and after-hours services, as well as in-house events.

Commenting on the opening, creative director Anna Mason said in a statement: “The pandemic has shown us that luxury retail isn’t only about an online transaction. It needs to be experiential. It’s a pastime and a privilege. You can’t get fitted online. You can’t touch online.

“My new maison will allow my clients to fully experience and understand my brand vision, as well as finding some inspiration while they visit.”

Mason has collaborated with interior designer Abbie de Bunsen on the design of the atelier and showroom. It features rugs and furniture, including sofas and chairs, pouffes and an ottoman that have been upholstered in Mason’s signature fabrics and uses natural British materials including tweed, calico, cotton velvet and corduroy.

The colour palette throughout the interior aligns with the Anna Mason house colours of dirty pink and other shades of blush, including an exclusive colour shade, ‘Anna’s Pink’ created in collaboration with natural paint brand Edward Bulmer. The pink hues complement the bespoke antique brass clothing rails, which have been sourced from Sweden.

Mason, a former protégé of Karl Lagerfeld, worked at MaxMara, Valentino and Amanda Wakeley before launching her namesake label in 2012 to offer feminine, wearable and timeless clothing utilising British fabrics.
