Margaret Howell expands South Korea retail presence with new stores

British fashion brand Margaret Howell is expanding its retail presence in South Korea through a phased rollout of new stores, which began with an opening at Shinsegae Main on September 22. The move marks a further investment in a market the brand says has a strong appreciation for its focus on quality, utility and longevity.

The expansion follows the appointment of Samsung C&T as the exclusive distributor for Margaret Howell and MHL. collections in the region. The agreement covers clothing, footwear, homeware and accessories, with distribution across department stores, Beaker stores and Samsung C&T’s SSF online platform.

The brand's managing director, Caroline Attwood, said: “We are incredibly proud to be further strengthening the brand’s long standing relationship with South Korea. We know there is a deep appreciation in South Korea for our values of quality, utility and longevity, and we are delighted to bring the brand closer to our South Korean audience in their home market.”

As part of the retail launch, Margaret Howell will also collaborate with South Korean brand documentary publication Magazine B on a dedicated issue that will explore Howell’s influence and the values behind the brand, with a related event programme to follow.

Founded in London, Margaret Howell established an identity around timeless design, practical utility and understated British style. With a design heritage rooted in shirting, the brand continue to produce garments through its London Workroom, where it maintains its focus on traditional craftsmanship and considered construction.
