UK trade show Pure London has confirmed that MP and chair of the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC), Mary Creagh, will be taking to the main stage at this February event where she’ll be discussing sustainability in the fashion industry.

Creagh will be speaking with journalist and sustainability expert Lucy Siegle about the EAC’s ongoing investigation into the fast-fashion sector. In January, MPs criticised leading UK fast-fashion companies for “failing to commit to reduce environmental impact” within the industry, following a request in October by the EAC for top UK retailers to reveal their environmental records.

Julie Driscoll, UK regional director of ITE group, the parent company of Pure London, commented: “We are really looking forward to Mary and Lucy in conversation. As part of our Power of One campaign to drive change in the fashion industry from the supply chain to the consumer alongside our onsite series of talks and seminars, Pure London continues to highlight the issues that matter, help disrupt the status quo, and to educate on best practice.”

Mary creagh will be on the Pure London main stage at 12.30pm on Monday 11 February.
