18Ply: Oui Group launches new knitwear brand
The Munich-based clothing supplier Oui Gruppe GmbH & Co. KG is expanding its portfolio with a new knitwear brand. On Tuesday, the company announced the launch of the label “18Ply – a knitter's project”. It will be launched for the autumn/winter 2027/28 season. Orders will open next January.
According to the Oui Group, the new brand stands for “quiet luxury, whose quality can be felt in the material, feel and workmanship”. The first collection will comprise the five “worlds” of Soft Essentials, Soul and Surface, Crafted Colour, Heritage Code and Colour in Motion. Core retail prices will be between 199 and 399 euros, while selected products could reach a retail price of up to 650 euros.
Joseph Gottesdiener, a member of the management board of the Oui Group, explained the project. “Knitting is the DNA of our family business,” he explained in a statement. “With 18Ply, it is consistently channelling this expertise into a new segment and developing an independent contemporary collection made from fine cashmere yarns.”
The new brand will launch “with its own identity and independent sales,” according to a press release. The focus will be on “top national and international locations: Munich, Düsseldorf and Hamburg; Vienna and Zurich; as well as London, Paris, Amsterdam and New York”.
