Academy of Fine Arts Venice launches master in contemporary jewellery

The Academy of Fine Arts in Venice (Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia), Italy has introduced a new master programme in ‘contemporary jewellery, as per a press release shared by the educational institution.

During the programme, students will learn about the entire supply chain, from historical-theoretical training in manufacturing, techniques and materials to design.

In addition, they will learn about production in workshops, market strategies, such as trend identification, and visual communication of the finished product.

The new master programme will be available from November 2023. It will consist of 1500 hours worth of lectures.

The training portion of the master programme will end in May 2024. Students will then start their 275 hours internship at a jewellery company, as well as write their master thesis.

20 students will be admitted to the programme. Their applications will be evaluated based on their personal portfolios.

Students with a degree in the field of jewellery, in the arts (painting, sculpture, architecture, graphics), restoration, design, fashion and theatre (costume and set design) will be given priority in the selection process.
