Pharrell’s latest Adidas sneaker reworks early-2000s outdoor style for now

Pharrell Williams and Adidas Originals are revisiting the brand’s outdoor archive with the new Virginia Watermoc, a technical everyday sneaker inspired by the early-2000s adidas Adventure Water Moc.

The latest addition to the ongoing Adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams Virginia partnership, the Watermoc translates outdoor functionality into a contemporary lifestyle silhouette. First unveiled during a beach takeover in Marseille, France, earlier this summer, the shoe is now set to make its global debut in three colorways: blue, yellow and black.

The design combines a neoprene U-throat construction with breathable mesh ventilation, reflective webbing and bungee speed lacing. A durable rubber lug outsole completes the look, adding traction to a style designed for movement beyond the trail. The Virginia Watermoc gives its outdoor references a more streamlined, fashion-focused update. Its technical details are integrated into a versatile silhouette intended to move between outdoor settings and everyday city life.

The release follows the futuristic Virginia Adistar Jellyfish and the more understated Flat Earther, further expanding the visual language of the Virginia line. Together, the silhouettes reflect Pharrell and adidas’ interest in reinterpreting heritage through new proportions, materials and functional details.

With the Watermoc, that approach turns utility into the central design feature. The result is a sneaker that draws on the nostalgia of early-2000s outdoor footwear while speaking to the current appetite for technical, adaptable fashion.

The Adistar Originals x Pharrell Williams Virginia Watermoc will be available globally in blue, yellow and black for 140 dollars on Saturday through the Confirmed app, adidas.com/pharrell and select retailers worldwide.
