UK textile charity TEX+ will make its official debut at trade show Première Vision Paris from September 1 to 3. Located at Stand 1B8 in the Designs Hall, the showcase marks a strategic milestone for the non-profit organization as it establishes a dedicated platform to connect emerging British design talent with the global textile and fashion industry. By presenting work from its latest award finalists alongside established program alumni, the charity aims to facilitate commercial pathways and international trade exposure for recent university graduates.

The showcase expands on the 50-year operational history of Texprint and TexSelect, the predecessor organizations reconstituted under the TEX+ banner. A central feature of the exhibit will be an interactive trend installation titled TEX+ Live Collaborative Trends Creation, where six selected designers specializing in weave, print, knit, stitch, and mixed media will construct a real-time concept wall based on Première Vision’s seasonal color forecasts. The participating cohort includes 2026 finalists Christie Shannon, Lili Mizuno, and Twig Searle, operating alongside alumni Freya Booth, Nikki Kewley, and Ruth Kent. To further drive visitor engagement, the stand will run a digital draw across the event's first two days, awarding limited-edition tote bags featuring artwork designed by the participating cohort.

The move to secure space at an international trade fair highlights a critical shift in how academic institutions and non-profit talent incubators bridge the transition between creative education and commercial employment. Early-career textile designers increasingly face structural entry barriers, high production overheads, and fragmented hiring pipelines upon leaving higher education institutions. By embedding emerging graduates directly into trade environments like Première Vision, TEX+ shifts traditional graduate showcase models away from static academic exhibitions toward active business networking, giving educators and institutional leaders a functional benchmark for professional placement and curriculum alignment.
