Boohoo Group is parting ways with its Managing Director, Mitch Hughes, according to a media alert from Drapers.
Just eighteen months into his tenure, Mr Hughes was appointed to the role in April 2021 after the company was bought out of administration in February, two months earlier.
Mr Hughes’ exit comes at a cost-cutting time where Boohoo’s businesses, which include Burton, Dorothy Perkins and Wallace, are consolidating its teams and operations.
Boohoo and rival Asos are seeing an end to the fast fashion e-commerce boom as the cost of living is cutting into consumer spending. While Boohoo Group plans to consolidate, Asos is aiming to cut costs by simplifying its logistics and becoming less globally overstretched, chief executive José Antonio Ramos Calamonte told the Financial Times.
