Central Group appoints Wallaya Chirathivat as president
Central Group is strengthening its management team. The Thai corporate group has appointed Wallaya Chirathivat as president, the department store operator announced on the professional network LinkedIn on Monday. The appointment of the manager, who has been part of the group for 40 years, is intended to strengthen the company for its next phase of growth and further expand its position in Thailand and on international markets.
The designated president's career to date includes roles in retail, real estate and corporate management, all within the group. In her new role, she will drive key group-wide priorities, strengthen collaboration between the various business units and represent Central Group to government agencies; private sector organisations; investors; business partners and international networks, according to the announcement.
“Wallaya brings a deep understanding of our business areas, extensive experience in leading large organisations and a continuous track record of success. I am confident that she will be another driving force in our management team and will help lead Central Group confidently into the future,” said Tos Chirathivat, executive chairman and CEO of Central Group.
The new president also sees her main task as building on the group's existing strengths and creating new business opportunities. “The key to our next step is to build on our capabilities and create more opportunities together – to add value for our customers, suppliers, employees, partners and stakeholders, guided by our corporate purpose: Central of Life – the center of life.”
