Fashion Designers of Latin America returning to NYFW

Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA) has confirmed it will participate in the upcoming New York Fashion Week in September with in-person catwalk showcases.

In a statement, FDLA said that its NYFW spring/summer 2022 shows would take place at a new location, Lavan541, located in the heart of Chelsea at 541 W 25th St, New York, NY 10001.

FDLA’s events will kick off with a virtual press conference on September 7 at 6pm, followed by an in-person reception featuring the best of Latin-American fashion designers with FDLA honorary president Agatha Ruiz de La Prada and special guest Custo Barcelona.

The lineup for FDLA, from September 8-9, will include both physical and digital presentations from emerging designers including Dante Luxury Footwear (Mexico), Dayana Leon (Venezuela), Giannina Azar (Dominican Republic), Glenkora Comte (Ecuador), Indira and Isidro (Mexico), Jose Ventura (Dominican Republic), Leti Faviani (Chile), Paris Rodriguez (Colombia), Rosita Hurtado (Bolivia), Samantha Telfair (Puerto Rico), Yirko Sivirich (Peru) and Yas Gonzalez (Cuba).

The events will be produced in adherence to New York State Health Guidelines and FDLA will require all participating staff, designers, models and guests to be fully vaccinated.

Albania Rosario founder at FDLA, said in a statement: “Anyone attending our shows will be asked to show proof of vaccination as we encourage and support the broader industry to follow suit and protect the wellbeing of our fashion community this season during the shows. We look forward to a strong coming back this fashion season and to celebrate the best of Latin American fashion in both physical and digital presentations.”
