Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27 trends: Collina Strada, Henrik Vibskov, Baum und Pferdgarten and more

Following a FW26 season that reinforced its position as the unofficial fifth stop on the global fashion calendar, Copenhagen Fashion Week returned from August 3 to 7, 2026, continuing its 20th-anniversary celebrations with 34 collections presenting the vision for the 2027 season.

The week marked several notable milestones: By Malene Birger returned to the runway for the first time in six years, while Henrik Vibskov celebrated 25 years in fashion. New York–based label Collina Strada, founded and designed by Hillary Taymour made its Copenhagen debut as part of the International Guest Slot.

For SS27, Copenhagen’s signature minimalism took on a decidedly more playful turn. Clean silhouettes and familiar wardrobe staples were layered, clashed and reimagined through sculptural proportions, unexpected prints and nostalgic references, signalling a new era of Scandi maximalism.

Rather than abandoning its pared-back roots, Copenhagen’s designers seemed to be challenging them, introducing contrast, eccentricity and individuality into an aesthetic once defined by restraint. The SS27 Copenhagen story is not minimalism disappearing—it’s minimalism being disrupted.

Vanilla Pod

A creamy, slightly warm off-white rather than stark white, vanilla became a sophisticated neutral across tailoring, dresses, knitwear and separates, often working tonally with beige, tan and soft brown. It felt like a natural successor to the cooler whites of recent seasons.

A collarless, jacquard tunic jacket with frog-style loop closures, paired over an asymmetric miniskirt with extended back panels.

Almada Label SS27

A relaxed-fit silk scoop-neck camisole, matching high-waisted, wide-leg fluid silk pants and a sash wrapped around the hips, trailing into a long dramatic train.

Herskind SS27

An oversized utility, knee-length shirt-dress featuring puff sleeves and a gathered drop-waist that led into a ruffled hemline, accessorized with a marabou feather rosette.

Pep(lum) Rally

The peplum was one of Copenhagen’s strongest silhouette stories. Instead of the body-con peplum tops of the noughties, this time around the peplum was treated as more of a supersized ruffle, sometimes created with almost skirt-like proportions.

Mix and Match

Copenhagen’s designers embraced deliberately mismatched combinations: contrasting prints, different garment genres and seemingly incompatible layers were worn together.

Capri is for Lovers

Simple black capri/knee-length leggings were used almost as a layering device rather than a standalone fashion item — worn underneath dresses, skirts, shorts and longer tops, it created an early-2000s reference.

Into the Wild

Copenhagen designers showed animal prints once again, but in a much less restrained way. In addition to leopard and zebra, tiger was particularly noticeable, alongside more unexpected interpretations such as Bambi/deer markings.
