Freemans adds Abigal Ahern to its designer line-up

Freemans has added British designer Abigail Ahern to its home offering and will launch her debut collection for autumn/winter 2021.

Ahern marks the latest ex-Designer at Debenhams to produce homeware for the digital department store, joining Henry Holland< announced earlier this month, and Julien Macdonald .

Abigail Ahern Home will launch in October 2021 and is described as a “timeless collection” of exclusive textiles and soft furnishings, decorative accessories and statement furniture.

The pieces will stay true to the designer’s “distinctive design aesthetic and interiors vision the range will bring a sense of moody maximalism” and will feature a mix of tactile surface finishes, natural materials and bold sculptural forms.

The range comprises of 100 pieces priced from 8.99 to 299 pounds and will be exclusive to Freemans.

Key pieces include a raffia table lamp, glass candle jars, wire lantern and faux Mongolian fur cushions.

Richard Cristofoli, chief customer officer at Freemans, who joined the retailer from Debenhams, said in a statement: “Abigail’s signature colour pallets and eclectic design inspirations are exactly what our customers are looking for. It goes without saying we are delighted to be working together on the collaboration and we feel it marks another major coup for Freemans.

“The boom in homewares and interior design, due to all of us spending much more time in our homes, shows no signs of abating. We want Freemans to be perfectly placed to meet this need through a combination exclusive design talent, leading third party brands, great value and an ‘always on’ free delivery promise.”

Ahern added: “Freemans allows me to bring Abigail Ahern to more homes across the UK, complimenting my mainline collections and further democratising both my brand as well as my take on interior design.”

As well as the exclusive designer collaborations, Freemans has also added a raft of well-known third-party home brands to its customer offer including, Voyage Maison, Sophie Conran and Fairmont and Main.
