MFW: Luisa Beccaria collection inspired by an ancient herbarium

During Milan Fashion Week, which concludes today, Luisa Beccaria presented its spring/summer 2027 collection, named Herbarium. The collection places botanical themes and natural elements at the core of its design proposal. The line explores the brand's classic motifs through prints, embroidery and appliqués depicting flowers, leaves and pomegranates on various types of fabric. The colour palette is based on shades related to water, the sky and variations in sunlight, defining a versatile offering for different day and evening occasions.

"Just as the pages of an ancient herbarium preserve fragments of distant seasons, the collection gathers the natural elements that inhabit Luisa Beccaria's imagination," the house explained in an official statement. The collection's structure varies between structured silhouettes and fluid volumes. The selection includes bustier dresses paired with light capes; pencil skirts; transparent blouses; A-line mini dresses; and open-knit mohair knitwear, hand-worked with gradient effects.

In terms of materials, the fashion house juxtaposes lightweight fabrics such as organza, fil coupé, lace, tulle and chiffon with more substantial options like brocade, poplin and printed cotton. The collection also integrates striped patterns and three-dimensional details created with sequins and ruffles.
