The spring/summer2023 collections displayed a wide variety of colours and colour combinations. Inspiration continues to come from both the natural and the virtual worlds. Here are the top four colours seen on the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Cobalt blue
New York – Jason Wu – a cold shouldered chiffon blouse with coordinating pants and an overlaying backwards ‘apron.’
London – David Koma – a jacket in a technical fabric and matching mini skirt, over-the-knee boots and faux fur bag
Milan – Alberta Ferretti – a satin strapless jumpsuit with a double plaited belt
Paris – Off-White – a tight sweater knit dress with a cold shoulder over a cropped turquoise turtleneck
Neon Green
New York – Michael Kors – a three-piece suit with a crop top, two button blazer and pants.
London –Mark Fast – a halter neck mini corset dress with side lacing.
Milan – Etro – a satin skirt with an asymmetric wide fringed hem and matching bra top and baseball cap.
Paris – Abra – a mock turtleneck dress with a star embellishment and an asymmetric hemline
Neutrals
New York – Adam Lippes – a dirndl style skirt with a matching ruffled top and tall sunhat
London – Burberry – a twist on their traditional raincoat over matching pants.
Milan – Bottega Veneta – slender pants and a cream tank top under a plaid shirt.
Paris – Gauchere – a three piece suit that includes a two button jacket, overlong pants and top with a crinkled surface.
Purple
New York – LaQuan Smith – low rise pants and a matching halter neck bra in purple sequins with a white transparent shirt.
London – Marques' Almeida – a purple bias cut sweater and skirt with center slit over knee high boots.
Milan – Giorgio Armani look 38 was a one button heavily embellished longline blazer with a matching skirt over pants in chiffon
Paris - Christian Wijnants look 22 was a purple trench coat and matching shorts with a white shirt and black patent platform boots.
