Italian brand Stone Island has unveiled its latest Denim Research collection for fall/winter 2026/2027, celebrating craftsmanship and creative collaboration in its 'Community as a Form of Research' campaign, presented by rapper Skepta and actor Stephen Graham.
The brand successfully reintroduced the Denim Research line last year and is developing it further this season with four seasonal washes: medium blue, light blue, grey and black. New treatments called Laser Pigment, Corroded Reflective and Hand Sprayed Reflective apply the label's research-driven approach to classic menswear categories.
Instead of the trucker jacket, the collection is built around a fatigue shirt. Chambray shirting in indigo and brushed indigo, together with organic cotton flannel, completes the denim offer for the season.
Reflective and laser treatments
Skepta wears the 'Hand Sprayed Reflective Light Bull Denim-TC', a jacket in lightweight 13oz denim woven with a 3/1 twill structure, which the brand says makes the fabric more durable. After garment dyeing, the denim is laminated with a highly refractive film containing thousands of glass microspheres and then sprayed by hand to create a shaded effect.
This intricate process makes each garment unique. The jacket is made with cotton from regenerative agriculture, treated with an anti-drop agent and comes with a detachable down vest certified under the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The garment-dyed down liner is attached to the outer jacket with the brand's Dutch rope system.
Stephen Graham wears the 'Laser Pigment Indigo Denim', a coach jacket in 13.5oz denim woven from indigo-dyed yarn in a twill structure, with multiple pockets and a front snap closure. After a stone wash, the jacket is sprayed by hand with coloured pigments and lasered with a varied pattern.
The laser sets the pigment, and an additional wash then reveals the contrast between the lasered and unlasered areas. The brand says this procedure also makes each piece unique. The coach jacket is made from organic cotton and given an anti-drop finish.
